About the Event

The Junior Techastra Project Expo is designed to showcase students’ creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills through working projects, prototypes, and models. This event encourages participants to explore real-world applications of science and technology while improving their presentation and communication skills. Students from classes 6–9 or 12 (based on final decision) will participate, either as individuals or in small teams. Their projects will be evaluated based on innovation, functionality, presentation, and societal impact.

Event Flow

  1. Introduction & Welcome (10 mins):
    • Opening remarks by the host
    • Introduction of coordinators and judges
    • Brief overview of rules, categories, and evaluation process
  2. Project Setup (20 mins):
    • Participants set up their models/prototypes
    • Coordinators ensure all systems, posters, and charts are arranged
  3. Judging Session (60–90 mins):
    • Each team presents their project (5–7 mins)
    • Judges interact, ask questions, and evaluate based on criteria
  4. Public Interaction (30 mins):
    • Visitors view the projects
    • Teams explain their projects informally to guests
  5. Valediction & Results (20 mins):
    • Judges consolidate scores
    • Announcement of Best Project Awards
    • Certificate distribution

Judging Criteria

  • Innovation & Creativity (30%) – Uniqueness of the idea
  • Functionality (25%) – Working model/prototype demonstration
  • Practical Application (20%) – Usefulness in real-world scenarios
  • Presentation (15%) – Clarity, explanation, charts/posters
  • Teamwork & Communication (10%) – Collaboration and confidence in answering

Event Timing

  • Slot 1: 10:10 AM – 11:10 AM
  • Slot 2: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Slot 3: 12:50 PM – 01:40 PM

Guidelines for Participants

  • Projects can be individual or team-based (max 2–3 members per team).
  • Participants should arrive 30 minutes before the event.
  • Each team gets 5–7 minutes to present, followed by Q&A.
  • Projects must be original or significantly modified if inspired.
  • Use of internet/phones during evaluation is not allowed.
