About the Event
Welcome to the Murder Mystery Challenge! This thrilling event will test students’ observation skills, logical reasoning, and teamwork as they step into the shoes of detectives to solve a puzzling case. Participants will progress through multiple rounds combining crime scene observation, clue solving, and interrogation analysis, ultimately working toward identifying the murderer.
Event Flow
- Introduction & Welcoming (5 mins):
- Opening remarks by the host
- Introduction of participating teams
- Overview of event rules and storyline
- Introduction of judges/moderators
- Round 1: Crime Scene Observation (10 mins):
- Teams observe a mock “crime scene” setup (photos/props/slides)
- Answer multiple-choice/short questions based on observations
- Scores announced
- Round 2: Clue Hunt & Puzzle Solving (15 mins):
- Teams receive encrypted clues (riddles, ciphers, puzzles)
- Each solved clue leads closer to identifying the suspect
- Scores tallied and announced
- Round 3: The Interrogation Challenge (20 mins):
- Teams analyze suspects’ statements (truths vs. misleading info)
- Cross-check alibis and contradictions using prior clues
- Submit final murderer identification with reasoning
- Judges reveal the answer and declare winners
Judging Criteria
- Round 1 – Observation (100%) – Accuracy of details noticed
- Round 2 – Clue Hunt: Correct clues (70%) + Time efficiency (30%)
- Round 3 – Interrogation: Correct murderer (80%) + Logical explanation (20%)
Guidelines
- Each team consists of 2–3 members.
- Teams must arrive at least 15 minutes before the event.
- All rounds must be completed within the allocated time.
- Judges’ decision is final.
