Trash to Treasure

About the Event
“Trash to Treasure” is a creative competition where participants transform waste or discarded materials into useful, artistic, or decorative items. The aim is to inspire students to think sustainably, reduce waste, and showcase innovation by proving that nothing is truly waste until you waste it.
Event Flow
- All participants must bring their own waste materials and stationery items.
- Only recycled/waste material should be used. Limited supporting material (like glue, paint, or scissors) is allowed.
- No use of sharp, dangerous tools or toxic materials.
- Pre-prepared items will not be accepted—work should be done on the spot.
- Each team must explain their creation in 2–3 minutes, highlighting the materials used and its usefulness.
- Respect time limits—late submissions will not be considered.
- Judges’ decision will be final and binding.
Guidelines for Participants
- Each team consists of 2–3 members.
- Teams should arrive at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Participants must complete tasks within the allocated time.
- Judges’ decision is final.
Requirements
- Materials: Waste/recyclable items such as plastic bottles, newspapers, cardboard, tin cans, old clothes, broken toys, e-waste, etc.
- Allowed Tools: Glue, tape, scissors, thread, paints, brushes, pins, chart paper, and other stationery.
- Prohibited: Pre-made crafts, only unused materials.
- Time Limit: 1.5 hours
Judging Criteria
- Creativity – Uniqueness of idea and transformation of waste.
- Presentation – How well the idea is explained/displayed.
- Neatness – Clean and polished outcome.
- Effective Use of Waste Materials – Extent of using recycled items.
