About the Event
TWISTOPIA is a fun and engaging quiz-based event designed to test participants’ ability to differentiate between truth and deception, while also challenging their knowledge and quick-thinking skills. In Round 1, Spot the Spoof, participants identify false statements from tricky truths online. Qualifiers enter Round 2, LexiQuest, an offline buzz-in challenge where quick responses and wordplay decide the winners. Fun, competitive, and mind-twisting!
Event Format
- A solo quiz event blending truth-spotting and wordplay challenges
- Round 1 tests accuracy and speed in spotting false statements online.
- Round 2 is an offline buzz-in battle, where quick thinking decides the winner.
Event Flow
- Round 1 – Spot the Spoof (Online Quiz)
- Participants will be shown statements with partial truths or realistic details.
- The game serves as a fun icebreaker where the lie sound plausible and the truths less obvious.
- Task is to identify which statements are spoofs (false/misleading).
- Spoofs are based on the Points are based on accuracy + speed.
- Conducted in online quiz format.
- Top 15 scorers qualify for Round 2.
- Malpractice (using external help, multiple logins, or answer-sharing) ones will be disqualified.
- Round 2 – LexiQuest (Offline Buzz-In Round)
- Conducted offline with the host and only Round 1 qualifiers can participate.
- A buzz system is used to answer, no shouting out.
- The host asks a question and keywords related to the answer are on a revealing board.
- Participants may Buzz in at any time to answer
- If the answer the keyword is revealed the answer is correct and points are Awarded
- If the answer is not on the board, others may Buzz in and attempt.
- Interrupting the host or buzzing unfairly leads to penalties/warnings.
- Final winners are decided based on highest total points
Judging Criteria
- Accuracy – Correctly identifying spoof statements and providing valid answers.
- Speed & Reflexes – Faster responses in the online quiz and timely buzzing in Round 2.
- Fair Play – Strict adherence to rules; any malpractice leads to disqualification.
- Presence of Mind – Ability to think quickly and respond confidently under pressure.
- Total Points – Final winners are determined by the highest cumulative score.
Timing
- Total Event Duration: 3 hour
- Intro & Instructions – 10 mins
- Each Round – 45 to 60 mins (According to Batchs)
- Scoring & Results – 10 mins
Guidelines
- Rounds must be attempted individually, no team play allowed.
- The event has two rounds – Spot the Spoof (Online) & LexiQuest (Offline).
- 50 participants per batch are allowed in Round 1 (first comes first serve).
- Top 15 participants from each batch qualify for Round 2.
- Participants must follow time limits and instructions carefully
- Any malpractice leads to immediate disqualification.
- The judges/organizers decisions are final.
